The Point Pleasant Fire District Explorer Post 667 provides young men and women with a unique opportunity to learn about the fire service, develop leadership skills, and serve their community. Supported by the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY), our program introduces youth to the responsibilities, discipline, and rewards of being a volunteer firefighter.
Who Can Join?
Explorer Post 667 welcomes participants ages 14–20 who are interested in emergency services. No prior experience is required - just a willingness to learn, work as part of a team, and dedicate time to training and community service.
Training and Education
Members receive age-appropriate, hands-on training in fire safety, basic emergency medical skills, equipment use, and fireground operations. While Explorers do not enter hazardous environments, they gain practical experience under the supervision of trained firefighters. This prepares them for future volunteer or career roles in fire and EMS.
Benefits of Joining
Leadership and teamwork development
Community service experience
Exposure to firefighting and emergency medical services
Opportunities to attend training sessions, drills, and fire service events
A pathway to becoming an active firefighter upon reaching eligibility age
Building Future Leaders
Explorer Post 667 is more than a youth program - it is an investment in the future of our fire district and our community. Many current firefighters began their journey as Explorers, carrying forward the traditions of service, courage, and dedication.
